Tiny Silver Dot Pendant in Shinbashiiro

£60.00 - £61.00

This Tiny Silver Dot Pendant was inspired by a quotation from a book by Carl Sagan called 'Pale Blue Dot'. The book was named after an image of Earth taken by the Voyager 1 space probe from the edge of our Solar System before it crossed into interstellar space. On board the space probe is a golden record with peace greetings to the Universe in 55 different languages, including whale song. Each little dot essentially conveys a message of peace across space and time.

All Tiny Dot Pendants are handmade in recycled Sterling silver and eco-resin. The original pendant was filled with resin hand-mixed to match the colour of Earth as seen from space.

For this pendant I chose Shinbashiiro [New Bridge Cyan]. According to the Essence of Colour in Japanese Design by Rossella Menegazzo, the colour became fashionable in the early twentieth century. I love it for its name, as to me building bridges between nations is fundamental to peace.

The pendant measures 6mm in diameter and comes with a Sterling silver mini snake chain with lobster clasp in a choice of lengths.

Prefer a different colour? Then drop me a message through my Contact page under Info - I am happy to mix to special colour requests at no extra cost.

The pendant comes in a grey recycled-card gift box and will be carefully packaged to ensure that it is not damaged in transit.

Ready to ship in 1-3 business days.
