Modernist Eclipse Studs
These modernist Eclipse studs are part of my 'First Exploration' range. They were inspired by an image of Saturn called 'Quintet of Moons'. This stunning image where four of Saturn's moons come together in the Cassini spacecraft's field of view was taken by the NASA JPL Caltech Space Science Institute during the Cassini-Huygens mission (Reference PIA14573).
The studs are entirely handmade in Sterling silver. The dotty silver texture is achieved using a technique called roll-printing where silver sheet is passed through a rolling mill with - in this case - a brass plate I made specifically for this pattern. The resulting embossed silver was then incorporated into the little hollow-form shapes. The studs measure approximately 10 x 9 mm and come with Sterling silver butterfly backs.
The earrings will be gift-wrapped and carefully packaged to ensure that they are not damaged in transit.
